Details: | SUMMARY: Arsenic Above MCL DETAILS: 1-9-18 - An arsenic sample collected 1-10-18 tested above the MCL. This is the second sample result following the increase to a quarterly monitoring schedule for arsenic. I spoke with Scott Curry: he says he will look into whether or not corrective action is required at this point in time. I also spoke with James Robinson: it does not look like connecting to Hiland Water will happen any time soon as Mr. Robinson said that last he heard Hiland was not sure if they would be coming that far down Hwy 62. We also talked about existing treatment: there is an arsenic treatment system in place-- however, Mr. Robinson is not familiar with details about who installed it or what type of treatment it is exactly. I emailed him Adam DeSemples phone number for the purpose of exploring whether or not financial assistance is available to repair or upgrade their existing treatment system. I added that OHA would need to do plan review for any treatment modifications.1-10-18 - Chuck Michael responded to Scott Currys inquiry: the arsenic results to date do amount to an MCL violation-- however, the violation would not be issued until April. Scott Curry said he would write a letter to the water system operator.2-13-18 - DWS has, apparently after some deliberation, determined that there is already an MCL violation for arsenic. I sent the water system contact person the DWS form letter for chemical MCL violations. ACTION NEEDED: Appropriate response as per the 2-13-18 letter from Jackson County to Manzanita Hills. | ||
