Details: | I spoke with Willamette Egg Farms - Canby (WEF) by phone. On 6/22/21, the system took water samples from a piece of food processing equipment at their Nest Fresh connection that were intended to be food safety (FS) water quality samples, not drinking water (DWS) regulatory samples. Additionally the system tested for L&C at their Satrum connection and Iron at both of those connections. However, the test submission form indicates that the tests were "Compliance" tests and the system's PWS ID# is also listed. All samples were labelled as "Source" samples. No source id is listed on the form. WEF told me that the samples were pulled from Well #3 - New Well When the FS water test at Nest Fresh came back total coliform positive (TC+), the well was shocked, the food machine was cleaned, and a second round of tests was submitted on 6/28/21. One test was a FS test from the egg washer at Nest Fresh connection, one from the source, and one from the Satrum connection. Again, the tests were indicated as compliance tests and all were indicated as source samples with no source ID was listed. All samples were taken from water produced by Well #3 - New Well. The egg washer was TC+, all other samples were TC-. Sanitation was performed on the food equipment - egg washer and third test was taken on 7/2/21. This sample was listed as NOT a compliance test but again labelled as single source. This test on the egg washer came back TC-. The operator of the system indicated that none of these samples were intended to be regulatory samples, but instead were to be "Special" samples. Though these samples are reported to DWS, they typically do not create regulatory responses. I will work with DWS staff to understand how these tests results should be reported and what, if any, regulatory response they require/d. |
