| Details: | SUMMARY: New Board Quorum and DRC DETAILS: Langlois Water District secretary Hal Fitzgerald reported that the Curry County Commission met today and appointed a 3rd board member to District, so they will now have a quorum. They will hold an emergency meeting today, swear in the new member, and approve a completed DRC designation form naming Darrell Lockard (of OAWU) as DRC starting tomorrow. That will avert the need for any public notice, which had been discussed when they thought there would be no one monitoring the surface water treatment plant. Now Darrell will be the contract DRC and District employee Lenny Thayer (no certification) will remain on to do the daily monitoring as in the past, with the same operator protocols. From a recent survey, it looks like the filter needs a manual backwash every 2-3 days. The auto-shutdown was also fixed by TAG a couple weeks ago (plant will shut down when turbidity creeps up), adding another layer of protection. The District will need to develop a contract for the DRC. Their plan is to have Darrell as interim DRC for 30-90 days until they can find a better long-term solution. ACTION NEEDED: Dottie Reynolds (DWS Operator certification staff) said they can designate a DRC and submit the form to her before a contract is completed, but she will still to receive a copy of the signed contract. I sent Hal the contact information for Dottie. Asked if she can provide a template for a DRC contract. | ||
