Details: | SUMMARY: Incorrect Information Given to Operator DETAILS: Water operator called me in the morning to discuss the 1 point violation the water system received because the water system did not take source samples during the scheduled time period. I mentioned that I had not read the coliform response flow chart completely. I also had reviewed the written coliform procedures but I did not read the second paragraph that discussed the need for source samples if the system was "not" required to do 4-log disinfection. The water operator stated that required sampling was coming up in April and he wondered if those source samples could be taken at that time. I discussed that the data online schedule indicates that 8 wells need to be sampled and that I wanted to make sure that he sampled only the wells that are necessary. He said that Reimer Well #4 was inactive and that the Walker Well is used only seasonally (Mar-Oct). I told him that I would have to update the well information that is on the OHA data online website by submitting a Water System Info page.I contacted Carrie Gentry at 1:24 to discuss the mistake I had made with the water operator and that I wanted to make sure he is taking samples from the correct source wells. She stated on 3/23 that all the wells would require testing except for the wells not in use when they got a positive. Discussed changing data online info. on the wells that are currently active. Sent Water System Info. page. ACTION NEEDED: Level 1 investigation to be completed by operator prior to April 6 due to initial Coliform Alerts (March 5th) and repeat sample Alert received on March 7th. |
