Details: | A citizen submitted a report that they believe a water line to the floating homes broke, exposing the residents to contaminated water. The citizen believes the main water line that runs through the river broke. The citizen who issued the complaint also tested positive for giardia during a test taken on August 5th. I called and spoke with Jeff Ingebrigsten on this issue, who told me that there was no break in the overall water system's main line; if there were, the system's components would show a lack of pressure, and that he would be able to hear the pressure difference from normal operation. He did mention that the water meter in the pumphouse is spinning more than normal, regarding water use. Jeff believes that the leak is most likely at an individual house, possibly involving a garden house or sprinkler or something similar. Jeff also says the residents are responsible for maintaining their individual lines up until the water line at the dock. Jeff says he is stopping by the various connections/homes individually to check for any indications of leaks. Paradise Moorage also posted a notice that today, August 9th from 10am - 3pm, he would shut off individual homes' water system components, intermittently, to check for indications of leaks and/or broken water lines at the individual locations. |
