| Details: | Richard called to inquire about the procedure for starting up their emergency well (Well #1). Currently their active well (Well #2) is not meeting expected capacity and is struggling to maintain appropriate levels in their cistern. I let Richard know that they would need to flush the well and chlorinate it before drawing the raw water sample. They would also need to draw a nitrate and arsenic sample before activating the well. Richard believes this will be a long term change and therefore required an inventory change form. One thing of note is that Richard plans on operating both wells at the same time, as Well #2 is hooked up to chlorination and will need to be in operation in order to provide disinfection for Well #1. There is a ball valve that will shut off Well #2 before Richard draws the startup samples for Well #1. |
