Details: | I called the phone number I had for the mayor this morning, Rodney Shanks. Jeanie Adams answered and I requested updates from my previous email on Friday regarding the water system. -Cody the watermaster has resigned. Jeanie and Rodney have taken the small water systems operator course at Baker City in September and are monitoring the water system. I will change my contact again for the water system to Jeanie. -The chlorine residual yesterday was indicated to be 2.0mg/L. I told them that the appropriate range for chlorine residuals is 0.20mg/L - 0.40mg/L. She mentioned that they have ordered new liquid for their chlorine test kit and should arrive within 5-7 days. -Jeanie said she got the logs for the previous and current months chlorine residual and will be sending that to me. -She also said they got the NSF certified chlorine, to which I again requested verification that she agreed she will send me soon. -Jeanie called the circuit rider program and applied with them, they will be reaching back out to schedule. -A community member emailed me to tell me there is a city council meeting this Thursday, and I informed Jeanie that she should have the information of what the water system is doing prepared to answer questions. Update 4pm: Jeanie sent me photos of the NS certified chlorine that they purchased to replace the normal chlorine bleach, photos of their residual chlorine tests from July and August, and a photo of their free chlorine test kit. |
