Details: | I received a notice from DWS that PGE Trojan Nuclear Plant lost water pressure as the motor drive failed. I called and spoke with Brian Hutchinson, who says that the system's pump had failed; its motor is pulling 3 times the amps that it is supposed to. It is pulling 60 amps instead of 20. The water system is being repaired right now. They have bottled water onsite and are using outhouses. Brian also says that signs are posted at the faucets to not use water at this time, Then, after the repair work is finished, they will chlorinate and flush the system and take bacteriological samples. Brian also mentioned that the plant site is private, and its users are just facility personnel and not the general public. |
