Details: | I sent an email to the new contact at Northwest Hazelnut Company public water system discussing the system's August 24th nitrate test result of 6.6ppm. This result is >50% of the nitrate MCL of 10ppm. Because of consistent nitrate results >50% MCL, the system's history of results >MCL prior to treatement and the system's current use of ion exchange to reduce nitrate, the system is and will remain on quarterly monitoring for the chemical contaminant. After summarizing the system's history with nitrate, I explained the use of RAA to judge compliance versus the MCL and provided guidance documents on chemical testing, nitrate health effects and a template for nitrate public notice in case the RAA ever exceeds the MCL. | ||
