| Details: | Background/Problem Identification: The main reservoir feeds two communities: Mile Post One and Points West. Water travels in one mainline from the source to a tee which branches off to serve the two separate communities. Water tested from source to tee shows no contamination, but water tested downstream of the tee to the two separate communities is testing positive for coliform. On July 14th, the Snapshot LP test location tested positive for E. coli. Assistance Provided: The circuit rider contacted Bryce Withers of Water Right Services and spoke at length about the water system and the issues that they are currently faced with. Based on the discussion, it became apparent that shocking the system and conducting more testing was the best path forward at this time. The circuit rider suggested that if the system continues to have coliform issues, they should investigate installation of a chlorination system. Several “flow paced” options were discussed, and the circuit rider is available to assist in equipment selection/sizing if assistance is requested.
