Details: | I received an alert on 11/10/21 for the last round of DBP sampling completed 11/2/21 showing levels of 0.0796 mg/l for TTHM and 0.0829 mg/l for HAA5 at the SM-2 - 13405 Thompson Rd site. These results(combined with results from the previous 2 quarters) caused an exceedance of the Operational Evaluation Level (OEL) requiring an Operational Evaluation to be completed and returned to me within 90 days. I called Brian and spoke to him about the alert as well as sent him an e-mail on 11/16/21. A link to a template and instructions on how to complete the Evaluation were provided in the e-mail and the circuit rider (Dan Vaage with Civil West) was cc’d the e-mail to see if he could also assist. Information on how to complete the OEL Evaluation and how the OEL is calculated was provided in the email and I provided my cell number (971-200-0288) in case Brian had any further questions. The OEL report received 12-16-21 cited a higher chlorine residual and excess storage due to low demands resulted in higher water age and DBP formation. They are investigating ways to lower reservoir levels, more closely monitor chlorine residual, and increase flushing activities. |
