| Details: | 10.15.21-I contacted Jim to discuss their failure to meet CT and maintain EP disinfection levels in September. The chlorine readings and actual CT calculations for September 15th, 18th-25th, and 27th-29th looked odd. Jim clarified that with the recent rains, he was having problems with high chlorine demand and was attempting to adjust chlorine dose. The initial chlorine readings for the dates listed above was 0.0 mg/L, but they were later corrected when the operator was able to get the chlorine within the required range. Due to the length of time to correct chlorine levels and unknown period with no chlorine residual in distribution, our compliance department will issue a violation for not meeting minimum chlorine at the EP and for not meeting CT levels. Corrective action: The operator adjusted chlorine levels. The operator provided an amended surface water quality form for the month of September, showing the initial CT calculations and chlorine readings obtained at the EP for September 15th, 18th-25th, and 27th-29th. No further actions needed at this time. |
