Details: | Background/Problem Identification: Richard Dechaine of Excalibur Village reached out to the circuit rider requesting assistance with elevated magnesium in their well water. The system also has a low-pressure issue that will be addressed in another support effort. Assistance Provided: The circuit rider spoke to Richard on the phone and exchanged several emails. Richard indicated that he thought that the magnesium was leaving a black stain on plumbing fixtures and possibly the root of their ongoing water pressure issues. Due to the low levels of magnesium reported in their system (8.3 and 9.4 mg/L) the circuit rider suggested that perhaps manganese was the parameter that was the cause of the black staining. Richard had both wells tested for manganese and one was a non-detect and the other measured 0.195 mg/L. Excalibur Village intends to take the elevated manganese well off-line to determine if they are able to meet demand with the non-detect well. If the system needs to bring the elevated manganese well back on-line to meet demand, they will investigate treatment options at that time. Follow-Up Actions Needed: Circuit rider is available to assist further with the pressure issue and any other assistance as needed. |
