Details: Question regarding coliform response procedure - Yvonne Mazza, Jacobs Drinking Water Compliance Coordinator, emailed me inquiring about the number of samples they should collect after having a TC+ in one of their routine samples. The system has to collect 3 repeat samples for each coliform positive (TC+) sample within 24 hours. For Salmon Run Golf PWS, the source sample (Triggered sample) is not required because this system is already treating for virus inactivation (4-log).

Please keep in mind that since your system is on a quarterly sampling schedule, you need to collect 3 additional samples in the month following the TC+. Your lab form will have a box to check these additional samples.
These additional samples will show up in your lab form as “temporary routine sample”. Temporary routine samples can be collected at the same locations you collected your repeat samples. You may choose to collect the 3 temporary routine samples all at the same time, or collect 1 each month starting with your first temporary routine collected during the month following the TC+ sample.
