Details: | Wylesha emailed me with 3 questions regarding both The Dalles Dam and Celilo Park. She wanted to know if the coliform sampling plan for Celilo Park was sufficient as there is only 2 sample locations. She could not set the faucet sensor to manual and therefore cannot flush it properly. In regards to The Dalles Dam, they are wanting to activate Well #1 to seasonal source. Wylesha wanted to know what sampling would be required? I directed her to the emergency well activation resource and the chemical scheduling pdf located online. They'll have to submit special samples for Arsenic, Nitrate and Coliform prior to activation and they'll also have to take VOC, IOC and SOC samples as well. Arsenic may be reduced to 9 years depending on the results. During the investigation, I could not locate the overflow for the cistern and I made it a corrective action. Wylesha located the overflow which was suspended over a cliff and found it to be unsafe to fix and wanted to know if there was any other way? I told her that while I cannot tell her how to fix the location of the overflow, that it will continue to be a deficiency to the system and will be a location for contamination in the system. They are working to come up with a resolution to the missing screen. |
