Reasons: | Nitrate |
||
Details: | For 2021, the system was to monitor the Nitrate levels. The treatment system was installed in Dec. 2020, and was supposed to keep the Nitrate levels under 5.0mg/L. The first sample on 12-10-21 was ND... then the following samples for all of 2021 started at 11.5mg/L and declined down to 5.4mg/L in 10-25-21. I found out that the system was installed by the old managers, very "jimmy-rigged," and that was part of the non-functioning outcome level. I spoke with Brian (owner) and told him it needs to be installed by a licensed professional, since then they have said it was re-installed professionally (no verification though). I visited in Nov. 2021 and spoke with one of the (new) managers, and showed her how to fill the canisters with salt and keep them filled (that was the problem with the high levels... no salt). Hopefully she is still keeping them filled. For now, I will periodically visit the park and verify they are doing what they are supposed to be doing. |
