Details: | SUMMARY: Based on recent Sanitary Survey-referred for Tracer Study DETAILS: When DHS engineer surveyed this system, she determined that the CT values were being met, but by a much narrower margin than had been previously thought. A significant deficiency was cited for surface water treatment, and a tracer study was required. Spoke to Jim Lewis, water system operator to obtain information on the configuration of the system, size of reservoir and chlorine contact chamber, data on peak flows and reservoir that the tracer study will take anywhere from less than 3 hours to more than 10 hours, depending on the efficiency of the reservoir for contact time. Peak flows for this system occur during the months of July and August. Since it would be somewhat difficult and wasteful to replicate peak flows this time of year, a visit was made to the system to verify the data and make plans for the tracer study (Or determine that one may not be needed after all). A preliminary evaluation of contact time was done. ACTION NEEDED: Circuit Rider will contact the City regarding tracer study in July or August of 2007. |
