| Details: | SUMMARY: Site visit to review orthophosphate and pH levels for corrosion control. DETAILS: Amy Parmenter and I made a site visit to Shangri-La to review orthophosphate and pH monitoring records. We met with Anthony who showed us the pH levels ranged from 7.3-7.5 and phosphate (as measured with an aquarium test kit) ranged from 1-2 mg/L. We discussed the need to obtain a test kit for orthophosphate in drinking water and to calibrate his pH meter before each measurement. At the time of the visit, the pH measured only 7.0, phosphate was at 1 mg/L and chlorine was 0.2 mg/L. ACTION NEEDED: KK will research test kits for orthophosphate as well as the optimal orthophosphate residual level. KK will set minimum operating parameters for pH and orthophosphate. Anthony will continue to monitor and make sure his pH meter is measuring accurately. Anthony will raise the pH to a minimum of 7.3 and chlorine residual to be maintained at 0.2 mg/L minimum throughout the distribution. | ||
