Details: SUMMARY: 3 of 5 temporary routines taken 6/12/07 were positive for TC DETAILS: Barbara EMAILED the the following on 6/14/07 (excerpts): New well online fall 06. Problems with testing. Please send P. Farrelly contact info. Received list of labs in metro area for testing. Have used Coffey, will do own sampling to investigate. Not satisfied with Coffeys tester, she does not follow sampling plan but has been provided with it more than once. Please send list of recommended labs. Will send sample by tomorrow morning. Please assist. No problems with old well or system. Have invested over $20,000 so far yet continue to test positive for TC at some test sites. Told that Culligan system would end problems but has not, unless of testing error. RESPONSE 6/18/07: First, what was residual Cl at time of sampling at each TC positive site? Is residual Cl leaving contact chamber tanks >0.7 ppm at all times, per plan review letter? Positive samples unlikely if chlorination system working properly. Takes time to fine-tune new chlorinators. Because of this, important to measure daily residual Cl and record to uncover problems before routine sampling. If problem persists may need to adjust residual Cl level or contact time-- can work with Pete Farrelly at the state DWP. Many samples collected same day by Coffey up the mountain, Camp Arrah Wanna is the only system with persistent problems. Feel free to call my mobile (971-563-3038) to discuss in detail.
