Details: | SUMMARY: Complaint DETAILS: I received an anonymous complaint from a resident of the park who said the water was undrinkable because of the chlorine taste and smell, the mold he finds in his coffee pot even after cleaning it, the "slimy" feel after showering, and what he thought was bacteria in the water. I performed a site visit on 09/27/07 to take a coliform sample and chlorine reading. The free chlorine was ~2.5 mg/L on a color wheel and the sample was absent for coliform. I spoke with the on-site manager, Cathy, on 10/1/07 about the complaint and we talked about lowering the dose of chlorine to get a residual between 0.2 and 1.0 mg/L and a potential Tracer Study. I e-mailed HBH Engineers to let them know she is interested in assistance. I called the complaintant back and informed him that the sample was absent for coliform and that the park management was going to work on the chlorine. I told him he could give me a call back if he continues to have problems with the water. ACTION NEEDED: Await results of the chlorine residuals and Tracer Study. |
