| Details: | SUMMARY: Positive Result for a Repeat Coliform Sample DETAILS: The Hood River County Heath Department received an Alert by electronic messaging (e-mail) on Friday August 10, 2007 @ 6:04 PM for the USFS Wyeth Campground in response to a positive result for a repeat coliform sample collected August 8, 2007-- the sample was negative for E-coli and fecal coliform. The HRCHD spoke with the DRC on Monday August 13, 2007.The HRCHD discussed shock chlorination and the possible source for coliform. Additionally, discussion revisited the possibility that a valve installed last spring is faulty. The DRC also indicated that he was considering contracting services to insert an inspection camera inside the well casing to look for damage. ACTION NEEDED: The DRC will shock August 13, let sit over night, flush August 14 and re-sample August 15.The Hood River County Heath Department will continue to work with the USFS Wyeth Campground to assure potable water is restored. Efforts to determine the point source for the contamination are ongoing. Reminders will be provided to assure that 5 routine samples are collected in the subsequent month (I.e. June 07) and that all monitoring results are submitted to the Department for entry into the SDWIS database. | ||
