| Details: | SUMMARY: Follow up Water Quality Issues and Operator DETAILS: Since the PUC meeting earlier this month, I have received several e-mails from Carol Lin the owner of the system, as well phone calls regarding details of the meeting. Carol indicates the operator of record for the system, Darrell Lund has resigned. The systems staff has a maintenance person not certified in the operation of the water/waste water systems therefore a certificated operator is needed as a replacement. She asked for suggestions in obtaining a qualified replacement operator. I explained that newspaper ads or direct contact to the water/waste water operators in the area is one approach. The Klamath Co Health Department and PUC would likely know of certified operators working for systems in their jurisdiction willing to assume the duties required by the system. If she were successful obtaining interested operators, she asked if I would conduct phone interviews with the potential interested operators to relate problems and discussions on maintaining compliance with DWP and PUC requests regarding maintenance of the system. I did conduct an interview with an operator recommended by Klamath County that Carol is considering for employment. I reported that the candidate sounded knowledgeable, was experienced in both water/waste water, personable and likely capable of managing the maintenance of the system. ACTION NEEDED: Continue communication with the system and be available for technical assistance if requested. | ||
