| Details: | SUMMARY: Chemical detections at Well 1. Well is now INACTIVE due to cave in. DETAILS: Chemical samples taken at EP-A in September 2007 showed trace amounts of VOCs including ethylbenzene, styrene, and toluene. Results were about 0.0005 mg/l. The well pump was replaced just prior to the sampling, and Mr. Kik feels the chemical detections are related to the pump work. Subsequently the well caved in so it is no longer used and the pump has been removed. Kik plans to rehab Well 2 in the near future and for now is relying on Well 3 (Chuck Wagon). Well 2 needs work to seal out hydrogen sulfide water. ACTION NEEDED: DWP to INACTIVATE Well 1 and EP-A. No further samples required. Owner to notify DWP when Well 2 has been repaired. | ||
