| Details: | SUMMARY: Corrosion Control DETAILS: Dan called to say that they are going to try something different with the corrosion control. They had been adding soda ash both at the wells and again as the pipes run by the treatment plant before going to the tanks. They are considering only adding them at the wells now. Wheeler exceeded their lead action level, so clearly their previous target or minimum of 7.0 was not sufficient. They will need to do something different. The DRC (John Handler) is now only working 2 days per week. Since he is the DRC, all treatment changes and adjustments should go through him and be reflected in a written operator protocol, which John says they have, though hes not sure if its always being followed. They will try to tighten their control of pH such that they dont have any more excursions. ACTION NEEDED: keep an eye on it. Water Quality parameters for Wheeler will have to be done again (raw water), and decide if soda ash is the appropriate treatment, do 2 6-month demonstration rounds, set a minimum pH for them as well. | ||
