| Details: | SUMMARY: WTP Design Questions DETAILS: In response to questions received via email Karen Kelley and I returned telephone call to design engineer. Issue 1 was placement of turbidimeter. Karen and I told Dees that the meter should be located after filter effluent is mixed but prior to effluent entering clearwell. Issue 2 was current placement of injector for sodium hypochlorite. We told Dees that a review of the administrative file revealed no directive from Dept regarding moving injection point out of mixing chamber in clearwell to filter effluent header current location is into stainless steel pipe on which the exterior of the pipe is corroding due to leak at injection location Finally we discussed the need for tracer studies once WTP modifications are complete and the need for properly located flow metering devices. We told Dees that one would likely be needed on the effluent side of the new 14K storage tank and one following the clearwell on the waterline leading to the large existing 1MG tank. ACTION NEEDED: None at this time. | ||
