| Details: | SUMMARY: Alert two total coliform positive results DETAILS: On 5/8/08 our department received a water quality alert for two positive total coliform test results for this water system. I called Mr. Smith and spoke with him about the situation. He informed me that approximately 8 - 10 repeat samples have already been taken today. Mr. Smith explains that several days ago, before these current routine tests were taken, a new pump was installed for that well, and speculates that may be the cause of this problem. ACTION NEEDED: I any repeats show a positive result for total coliform Mr. Smith plans to treat the water, most likely by chlorinating it to hopefully alleviate the coliform problem. Then, in June, five additional routine samples are scheduled to be taken for this system. | ||
