Details: SUMMARY: Response to Total Coliform Positive MCL DETAILS: Discussed the Total Coliform positives occuring during the end of June. The 6/25/08 Total positive, was followed by five repeat samples taken on 6/26/08. Three of the five repeats came up total positive. All of the samples were absent for e.coli. Ed issued a public notice to the community alerting them to the confirmation of the total coliform routine sample (posting and a direct mailout). He then shock chlorinated the two wells and distribution system, waited for adequate contact time, then flushed the water system. Five total coliform routine samples taken on 7/1/08 were all total absent, and a public notice was issued that the problem had been resolved. ACTION NEEDED: Ed to ensure sample bottles are clean, and to follow up with DWP if any future coliform samples are positive. DWP to provide assistance to Metolius Meadows, especially if total coliform positives occur.
