Reasons: Lead or Copper
N/A

Details: SUMMARY: Copper action level exceedence DETAILS: Lead and copper tests done on 8-12-08 resulted in a 90th percentile value for copper of 2.055 mg/l exceeding the action level. Called Umpqua Lab to get individual site results -- 1.17,1.26,01.85, 1.88, and 2.23 mg/l. Since they have never exceeded the action level before it appears that something has occurred to make the water much more aggressive, or perhaps the pump itself is leaching copper. The latter could be due to chlorine being added down hole. Called Butch Rogers to discuss. Agreed to sample for pH in the distribution system and copper at the wellhead. He will pull and inspect the pump if necessary. ACTION NEEDED: Identify and eliminate the cause of the copper spike. If this cannot be done, the system needs to begin testing for Water Quality Parameters.
