Details:	SUMMARY: none DETAILS: Hood River County Health corresponded with Jeff Mitchell, maintenance mechanic, USDA Forest Service, Columbia River Gorge NSA in response to positive results for 4 of 5 routine coliform monitoring samples. Wyeth (pws# 4194014) had 4 of 5 routine bacteriological samples with TCR+ results. The water system was subsequently closed and PN posted. The 5 routine samples were taken in September following their recovering of positive TCR in August. Following the 4 of 5 TCR+ results, repeat samples collected on two separate occasions. Regrettably there was a disconnect in the shipment of the samples and both sets exceeded the 30 hour hold time. Since the end of the operating season is September 30 and the water system was closed September 6yh due to the TCR+ results, the Wyeth water system elected not to make a third attempt to have repeat samples analyzed and decided to remain closed for the season. Wyeth does intend to submit samples next month, even though they will be closed for the season. This will provide another opportunity to re-evaluate the presence/absence of total coliform. ACTION NEEDED: The Hood River County Health Department will continue to work with the USFS Wyeth Campground to assure potable water is restored.
