| Details: | SUMMARY: Boil Water notice DETAILS: On phone duty I got notice that this system had 3 EC+ samples. Their history shows lots of coliform over the last year, mostly total. I tried calling Greg and Carolyn at the county, but since they didnt answer, I called the system directly. I talked to Jan. She didnt seem that concerned about the Ecoli at first, saying that theyd drank the water for 40 years and its never made them sick. She had some questions about how ecoli could get into their well, which I answered. I told her the bottom line is that public health is about being proactive and they need to be on a boil notice. I also told her that it looks like continuous chlorination is in their future, which is better than a potential outbreak in their system. I think she agreed. They have a board meeting tonight. She will deliver the boil water notice today. I told her about HBH as a circuit rider to help resolve the problem. ACTION NEEDED: County should follow up as far as getting a copy of the boil notice, future sampling, and resolution of the positive samples (chlorination?). | ||
