| Details: | SUMMARY: Request to discontinue prechlorination DETAILS: John Higgins left voice mail on Karen Kelleys telephone that the City had completed construction of local service storage tank and asked whether at this point they could discontinue prechlorination at their treatment plant. I sent email to John and Dyer Engineering instructions on how to proceed. They first need to submit schematic drawings or sketches of the local service system and the main service system with theoretical contact time calculations assuming peak flow conditions to assure adequate CT. If reasonable the DWP will approve an interim discontinuation of the prechlorination. For longterm approve of discontinued prechlorination the City will need to conduct tracer studies on both systems to verify actual contact times and show that they meet CT at all times. ACTION NEEDED: None at this time. | ||
