Details: SUMMARY: VOC Sampling Question DETAILS: Allan Tuck called to ask if they could substitute their annual VOC sample that they normally take in August for the their 2nd quarter sampling for Tetrachloroethylene, which due to the test method is the same as VOC sampling. I told him that if he sampled before June 30, 2009, the sample would fulfill the VOC sampling requirements for 2009 and if the results were non-detect, he could discontinue quarterly sampling. The system was put on a quarterly schedule due to a detection of Tetrachloroethylene in August of 2008. Quarterly samples taken in December 2008 and April 2009 were both non-detect for the contaminant. He asked about reporting the 2008 detection in their 2008 CCR and I told him that it was required to be reported and to explain that they were on quarterly monitoring. ACTION NEEDED: System to sample VOC by June 30, 2009 and report the detection in 2008 in their 2008 CCR. The results of the August and December 2008 sample and the April and June 2009 sample will be used to determine compliance with the MCL.
