Details: SUMMARY: Lead AL Exceeded DETAILS: I contacted Al Deichsel to follow up on the lead action level exceedance due to their last round of sampling completed 09/04/09. I asked Al to fax me the results, which were received 09/29/09. I told him that they will be on a 6-month sampling frequency beginning 01/01/10 (sampling from 20 sites every 6 months) until results are below the action level. It sounded like he had the public education requirement figured out after talking to Chris Hughes on 9/28/09, but offered assistance if he needed it. I told Al that the pH should be consistently maintained at 7.2 or higher and phosphates should be 0.5 mg/l or higher. I directed him to information about lead and copper for the system (results, schedules, minimum pH, etc.) on-line at (click on "More Info" to reveal all the information):http://yourwater.oregon.gov/leadcopper.php?pwsno=90416 and that Maureen Taylor, Hal Nauman, or I would be contacting him later in the week to follow up. ACTION NEEDED: System is to distribute Lead and Copper public education materials, begin sampling for lead and copper tap samples at 20 sites every 6 months (starting 1/1/2010), and work to maintain a minimum pH of 7.2 and phosphate levels at or above 0.5 mg/l.
