| Details: | SUMMARY: Positive repeat coliforms DETAILS: Linna called to let me know 3 of the repeats were positive. I informed her since the samples were only total coliform positive they were not on a boil water notice. The system would however need to provide a public notice. She was unsure as to why the samples were positive. There arent any known leaks and hasnt been any work done to the system. There is the possibility during the very stormy weather some rainwater may have entered through a vent on a reservoir but that is only a guess. They are planning to disinfect the system by raising the chlorine level of the system to 2ppm. I told her it may be a good idea to do some special samples to see if coliform had been eliminated. I also let Linna know that the state will be expecting 5 temporary routine samples for October. She said she understood. I asked that she provide a copy of the public notice to this office and she said she would mail a copy. Copy emailed 9-11-09 ACTION NEEDED: Monitor follow up samples in October | ||
