| Details: | SUMMARY: Positive coliforms in 4 samples 9/23/09 DETAILS: Glenn stopped at office saying repeats showed coliforms and asked for insight. His daily chlorine residuals have been around 1.3-1.5ppm. His chlorine readings at each sample sight were in the same range. He does not think a leak exists because pressure in pump house is remaining static. Upper well has not functioned consistently and he questioned if low water contributed to bad results. Considering past history of E.coli I encouraged serious consideration of using one of the new unused tanks in the system. ACTION NEEDED: Options are: Increase chlorine residual - shock the well this evening and purge tomorrow am. - Increase chlorine residual to 2.5-3.0ppm over the weekend - Notify tenants of problem - Draw a special sample - Provide public notice. Take 5 routine samples in October. | ||
