| Details: | SUMMARY: Follow up on positive coliform 11/18/09 DETAILS: System has had a series of positive results. They are trying to figure out what steps to do next. November 2nd samples ere taken marked special at the well, guard station, administration, the well was negative but the other sites were positive. System was then batch chlorinated, cal hypochlorite was taken up the 100,000 gal reservoir and added on the 5th or 6th of November and moved through the distribution. No chlorine residuals were recorded until early the next week and no residual chlorine was measurable. The next sample taken was on Nov. 17th at the guard station marked special and it was negative. This sample should have been labeled temporary routine but it was marked as a repeat. Two more samples were taken on Nov. 18th, one at the guard station and northwest aluminum specialties which were both labeled repeats and were positive, these also should have been labeled temporary routine. ACTION NEEDED: I have been in contact with Michelle Byrd at the state to look at options for this water system and for future sampling requirements. I have requested info from the operator regarding their sampling plan, schematic of the system and sampling points.Operator should have the tank assexed and cleaned if necessary. Verify the screening on the reservoir is secure to keep out Rock Doves and other birds. System is also looking at the possibility of adding a chlorinator. | ||
