Details: SUMMARY: Coliform repeat DETAILS: 3 of 4 repeats came back positive coliform. Pipes at system are very old and it is very difficult to flush out all lines. System might have possible GWUDI Ground water under direct influence, from Dexter Lake. Tim is going to check if any GWUDI samples have ever been submitted. System needs to check into chlorinating options by Spring 2010. Also discussed possibly purchasing drinking water from another source and posting notices on all drinking fountains/faucets that water contains coliform and bottled water is provided-- according to OSHA this is not allowable. The system must provide potable water at the tap. Bottled water can be used temporarily but is not a permanent solution. Public notice posted yesterday. ACTION NEEDED: Public notice posted. Check to see if GWUDI samples have been submitted. 5 temporary routine samples required in February 2010. Treatment options need to be researched and available by spring 2010 if coliform persists.
