| Details: | SUMMARY: coliform positive DETAILS: I spoke to Dorothy regarding the latest coliform positive result. Gary Watts had already submitted 5 repeat samples fo which one was at the source. Dorothy stated that all the repeat samples including the source were positive for coliform but none we found to have Ecoli like last year. Dorothy state that she would be preparing the public notice and that the well would be shock chlorinated on 1/20/10. The systems is chlorinating and there is not record that notes residual maintenance or disinfection has been reviewed and approved. A water system survey dated March 2005 was done for and added connection to the system and requested by Tom Charbonneau. The survey states that chlorination was N/A for this system. I am looking through documentation for plan review approval for the addition of chlorine to system but am unable to locate it. I have spoken to Amy Parmenter and left voice mail for Tom Charbonneau regarding this issue. I sent Dorothy a coliform worksheet as she mentioned that maybe the chlorine residual was not strong enough to prevent bacterial contamination. Dorothy is aware of the new ground water rules as well as the requirement for five temporary routine samples to be submitted in February. ACTION NEEDED: Wait for MCL violation alert for repeat positive samples and for Dorothy to confirm public notification has been provided. | ||
