Details: SUMMARY: Broken main in Haven Acres - Part 2 DETAILS: After talking with Joe Carlson (with the 9-29-09 letter in hand), we agreed Id call the system and request a boil water notice and find out their timeline for repair. David True was in, gave me a bunch of background on the issue and noted that the Citys attorney and the private attorney the City had hired disagreed with the AGs opinion but hadnt gotten back to us on that point. David said the water line break happened Wednesday night and the City had provided replacement parts but were told not to repair. I noted that DWP still considered the 9-29-09 letter to be valid and we could agree on the boil water notice, and that Id be happy to kick the conversation up the chain to Joe Carlson and the City manager (Greg Hinkleman) to discuss the 20 psi requirement (i.e. - fixing the line). David gave me the Greg Hinklemans phone number and I gave it to Joe Carlson. I called the two residents and let them know we were working on getting some action from the City (20 psi issue) and that Id call them later with more info if possible. Joe Carlson contacted Greg (City manager) and at the end of the conversation asked him pointedly if he was refusing to fix the line. Greg told him hed talk to the City attorney and get back to him. There was a lot of background conversation between Dave and Joe, and in the end it was agreed that Joe should contact Shannon OFallon and have her contact the City attorney. I dont know if it got that far, or if Greg just called Joe back. Joe would know this. ACTION NEEDED: Continued in Part 3
