| Details: | SUMMARY: Well Treatment System Filures DETAILS: System is a small system with 20 connections. The system consists of a low and high service area. The well in the high service tests high in iron. Treatment of the iron is achieved through the use of an ion-exchange water softener. This unit has experienced repeated failures, causing the affected customers to received water that is high in iron and hardness. HBH was contacted by Dick Recht, Board Member for the system to provide advice on the potential replacement of the failing treatment unit. I met with PWS Board Member to tour water system and specifically to inspect the water softener that has experienced multiple failures of the 3-way valve switching mechanism. Also discussed issues with hydrogen sulfide in the wells. ACTION NEEDED: Assist water system with the potential solutions to the hydrogen sulfide issues. | ||
