With additional information from WRD Well Log # CLAC57988, the construction of the casing seal is considered adequate. The casing seal is now understood to extend to a depth of 299 feet below ground level. It is unclear why this well has tested positive for e.coli. There could be an improperly constructed well nearby or fracturing of the basalt materials that our analysis is not capable of identifying and evaluating.

The well draws water from a deep confined aquifer within the Columbia River Basalt Group.

Based on the source address given on the well log, there does not appear to be any surface water within 500 feet.

(Well has a history of TC+ and EC+ results. Most recently confirmed TC+ and EC+ detection in well was 12/22/2006. Please update evaluation with additional CLAC57988 well log.) ACTION NEEDED: Be conscious that a nearby domestic well (1999) may be co-mingling the aquifers in order to pollute the properly constructed well.
