| Details: | SUMMARY: Distribution System Replacement/Funding Assistance DETAILS: The system is a small, community-run water system located east of the City of Astoria. The system has 108 connections, and serves approximately 315 people. The water system purchases water from the City of Astoria. The first user in the system is the First User for the City of Astoria’s water system. HBH was contacted by Kurt Krusick, a board member for the system. The Association is currently planning the replacement of approximately 9,000 feet of an old asbestos cement pipeline. These pipes are the source of an increasingly high numbers of repairs, which the Association is related to their age. The Association is currently seeking funding for the pipeline replacement project. Melanie Olsen with the State of Oregon Infrastructure Authority recommended that HHB be contacted to provide general funding assistance. Following review of the water system, a recommendation report was written with recommendations including replacement of vulnerable portions of the distribution system. Cost estimated, along with potential soft costs, was also provided to the water association. ACTION NEEDED: Provide funding application assistance if requested by the water system. | ||
