| Details: | SUMMARY: Questions regarding adminstrative contact and operator certification DETAILS: I returned a phone call today to John Bowler, a reporter with the Madras Pioneer, regarding the Crooked River Ranch Company water system. Mr. Bowler said that there may be a new board for the privately owned water system. He asked if James Rookes the administrative contact and certified operator resigned would the water system still be in compliance with the State and be able to ensure continuation of water to residents. I mentioned that if Mr. Rookes resigned that the board would need to notify the State of the new adminstrative contact. With respect of ensuring continuation of water to residents, Keith Bedell, is currently listed as the water systems direct responsible person in charge and is also a certified water operator. Mr. Bedell would be able to provide oversight to operate and maintain the water system. Mr. Bowler asked if Mr. Bedell decided to leave, what would the board need to consider. I indicated that the water system needs to notify the State immediately and would have 30 days to identify a new certified operator for the water system. The board may need to contract with a certified operator if they are unable to hire or train someone to operate the water system. The State has a list of certified operators if water systems need to contract with someone. ACTION NEEDED: No further action needed. | ||
