| Details: | SUMMARY: COLI8467-coliform found present in 10/14/10 sample DETAILS: Dean called stating one of four repeat samples came back showing the presence of coliforms. He stated his thinking that here was something wrong w/ the tap at this sample was drawn from the same site as the original routine sample that showed coliforms. When asked, he stated that he was checking chlorine residuals about three times per week and they were running 0.2 - 0.3 mg/L. We discussed the possibility of a chlorine shock for the system and then drawing a special sample to get a better feel for what might be going on before taking the five temporary routines next month. Instead opted to temporarily increase the chlorine level in the system to ~ 0.5 mg/L and to thoroughly flush the piping at the site where the bad samples had been drawn from before taking any further samples there (even though this site is at the first of the system). Also sending Dean an e-mail on 10/19/10 w/ public notice template and leaving a voice mail message re the e-mail. ACTION NEEDED: Five temporary routines due in November. Post Public Notice for unresolved coliforms by the end of this month. | ||
