Details: SUMMARY: Positive repeat coliform DETAILS: Emailed following comment to Debbie and she confirmed receipt by phone. We also confirmed a time to conduct a system survey on 12/30/10 at 1:30 pm. I just received results for the repeat sampling. Two of the three distribution samples are positive for coliform. All source samples were negative. Someone will need to submit a public notice to residents as we have an MCL violation for coliform. The notice should be unresolved if the situation isnt corrected prior to the notice or resolved if the situation is corrected and testing shows the issue is resolve. The public notice need to be submitted within 30 days. Once it is issued it must be to the state within 10 days. If you forward a copy to me I can send to the state for credit. I have attached the public notice templates. I would assume Gary will be shock chlorinating the system. I will contact him this morning. After that is completed, it is a good idea to take a special sample in the distribution system to see if the shock chlorinating worked. The system will be required to submit five temporary routine distribution samples in January. If those results come back positive, further testing would be required. If the results are negative the system can return to normal monthly sampling schedule. I spoke with Gary from Alpine Pump by phone and explained the five temporary routine samples for January must be distribution only, no source samples. He stated the system would be shock chlorinated and a special sample submitted fro verification. ACTION NEEDED: Wait for results of special sample after shock chlorination, monitor for receipt of public notice. Monitor for results of five temporary routine distribution samples to be submitted in January.
