Details: SUMMARY: Water Conservation Assistance DETAILS: HBH was contacted by Bill Goss with DWP to provide assistance for Sunridge Water Inc for installing bacteria sample taps. The system is served by two wells that feed into 2 large pressure tanks totaling 25,000 gallons. Water is chlorinated for residual prior to its distribution. There are 33 connections that serve 100 people. Water consumption in the summer months is close to 322,000 gallons per day. This is extremely high for this small of a system. Water is currently billed on a flat rate. I prepared a report discussing the institution of progressive rate scale for water consumption in lieu of the flat rate system. Water meters are already installed and read within the system. Instituting a progressive pay scale will cause consumer to cut back on their water consumption/waste. Irrigation systems are often left running all night. Contacted local agencies that could help system institute a progressive pay scale. ACTION NEEDED: None needed at this time.
