Details:	SUMMARY: Nitrate alert DETAILS: Spoke with the operator and informed him of the nitrate issue and possible health effects. Nitrate sample was 7.5 over half the MCL. Viking Acres has a history of high nitrates with some samples exceeding the MCL in 2003. Discussed the importance of looking into nitrate treatment mailing information to operator. Brandon was unaware the system is required to take quarterly samples, has only been submitting a sample every 3 years. A sampling schedule has been set up with Delta Labs for quarterly coliform & nitrate beginning this quarter 2011 ACTION NEEDED: Recommend looking into nitrate treatment.
