Details: SUMMARY: Boil Water Remains in Effect DETAILS: I spoke to Ludek Winkler about the UV system and let him know that I had contacted the UV manufacturer regarding the error code that he had been getting from the system. The UV manufacturer indicated that the lamp needed to either be replaced or the sleeve needed cleaning and that the error code was not likely a faulty sensor display. I passed the information on to Ludek and let him know that the boil advisory was still in effect until the UV system indicated it was working properly. I followed up our conversation with an e-mail stating: "I spoke to Trojan this morning (actually Viqua) and they said that it sounded like the sensor unit was working and that the lamp would need to be cleaned to clear the error code. He said, depending upon the hardness of the water, the lamp sleeve may need to be cleaned once a week or so, but that it didnt sound like the sensor was faulty (given we cleaned it and it worked for a week or so). I also asked him about cleaning the sensor "eye" that comes in at the side of the unit near the outlet (as opposed the lamp removal end of the unit) and he described the procedure below. I think that with the cartridge filter back in place and once the sensor eye and lamp sleeve cleaned, it should work for longer than a couple of weeks. At that point, I would work to get the auto-shut-off solenoid unless you decide to go with a different UV system for viral inactivation." ACTION NEEDED: System to clean UV lamp sleeve and/or investigate remedies for the UV system. Boil water notice still in effect.
