Details: SUMMARY: Questions about ERP and O&M templates DETAILS: Leon had received an email with numerous attachments about O&M manuals and ERPs from another DWP staff person, and was wondering what to do about all the items that did not apply to their very small water system (no treatment, no security fencing, etc.). I reassured him that the templates are for him to adapt to their water system, and cut out the parts that do not apply. They should definitely have a coliform sampling plan, an up-tp-date list of contacts, and plan what to do in each of the most likely emergency scenarios for their system. (We reviewed a few possibilities, and came up with - power going out, contamination in the well water. As a TNC, he can plan to simply shut down the water and send folks home until they get the water system back on line.) He said he will review the materials with the "cut it down to suit" approach, and work with the County Public Health person to complete. ACTION NEEDED: Completion of Emergency Reponse Plan and O&M manual as required for public water systems.
