Details: SUMMARY: Follow up on citizen complaint DETAILS: Susan called as she is complaining of intestinal issues for about 2 weeks. She indicated other neighbors complaining of the same types of issues. She is concerned that there is giardia going around, and also about potential sewage related spills into the Coquille River associated ahead the new City sewage plant that will be brought on-line soon, that might impact drinking water. I indicated that based on our records the City appeared to be in compliance with all coliform sampling and surface water treatment requirements thru September, and recommended she contact the City directly to better follow up her complaint. I also supported her thinking to see a doctor and recommended she contact DEQ regarding City sewage plant compliance status. I referred to the SWA on-line and we discussed the potential contaminant sources identified in the report for the surface water intake. I provided a link and orientation to DWPs website including data on-line and source water protection. ACTION NEEDED: Susan to contact City directly. DWP to provide support as necessary.
